I was quite surprised when Patek included these 50th Anniversary Nautilus watches as part of its 2026 W&W presentation. I think this was a mistake and a lost opportunity.

IMO these historically important watches have received a somewhat diminished response compared to the the reception they would have received as an exclusive release at a different time of year. Partly responsible for this reaction I believe is the creativ

5296R - My 13-year old thinks it’s timeless as opposed to oldfashioned / grandfatherly.

Patek journey (part 2) Thorstein's Simple Epiphany

My love of Patek started with misunderstanding and a heavily bruised ego. A young boy doesn't have to be convinced that a girl is pretty. He knows it because his sensory criteria are simply and completely satisfied, he sees her day-in and day-out and that

Watches & Wonders part 3: Patek Philippe Cubitus Perpetual Calendar ref. 5840P

Initial thoughts from the press pictures weren’t encouraging, but when seeing it for real and putting it on the wrist, it’s absolutely amazing. The Cubitus finally clicked for me in this perpetual calendar execution. The 45mm platinum case sounds imposing
